Copying our materials

Information about copying and reproducing materials from our collections and charges that apply.

Photocopying

A self-service photocopier is available in our searchroom. Please note that there are restrictions on copying due to copyright regulations and the need to protect our collections from damage. No fragile items, items over 100 years old or photographs over 50 years old may be photocopied and all photocopying is at the discretion of staff.

Microfilm copies

A4 sections of microfilmed material can be printed in our searchroom.

Use of cameras and other devices where digital images can be taken

You may photograph material in our searchroom (conditions and fees apply - please see list of charges at the bottom of the page).

Scanning

We can supply digital copies of material by email or on CD. (Please see our list of charges at the bottom of the page).

Copyright

Where Islington Local History Centre does not own the copyright of material, it is the responsibility of the customer to obtain permission for reproduction before the material is used. Any material reproduced from our collections should be credited to Islington Local History Centre.

Reproduction charges

Please note that all copies are provided for private research use only. Further fees may apply for using copies or photographs of materials from our collections

Charges apply for the publication or display of material from the Local History Centre's collection in books, films, exhibitions, websites etc.
