Easter bank holiday services 2024

Our services on bank holidays may be different than usual. Find out more on each of the services below during the Easter bank holiday on 29 March and 1 April 2024.

Customer contact centre

All our hubs are closed for the summer bank holiday on: 

  • Monday 26 August.

If you need urgent help, call our emergency out-of-office line on 020 7527 2000 and choose the option you need.

Don't visit our hub at 222 Upper Street - there will be no staff available.

Anti-social behaviour

The anti-social behaviour (ASB) out of hours response service will be available as usual:

  • Sunday to Thursday - 4pm to 2am
  • Friday and Saturday - 5pm to 4am

It's quickest and easiest to report ASB online using the 'report an incident' button and form. If you can't report online, phone 020 7527 7272.

Birth, death, marriage and citizenship services

The register officer will be closed except for booked ceremonies:

  • Saturday 24 August
  • Sunday 25 August
  • Monday 26 August.

The office will be open again from Tuesday 27 August.

Register a death on the bank holiday

During the bank holiday, an on-call registrar is available each day between 9.30am and 12.30pm to register deaths for urgent religious funerals.

Call 020 7527 6350 for the on-call registrar.

Housing

The Housing Tenancy Management service will be closed on:

  • Monday 26 August.

You can call an out-of-hours incident manager for emergencies on 020 7527 2000 for general help.

Emergency repairs

Call 020 7527 5400 for emergency repairs.

Communal boiler maintenance

The communal boiler maintenance service will be covered by the out-of-hours service.

Planned works sites

All planned works sites will be closed on:

  • Monday 26 August.

Libraries

All of our libraries have different opening times. Check the library opening hours on our libraries page.

Parking

Monday 26 August (summer bank holiday)

  • Parking bays that are free to use without a permit:

    • resident
    • business
    • short-stay (pay and display)
    • shared-use (permit or pay and display)

  • Restricted parking as usual:

    • 24-hour restrictions like double yellow lines, footways, double parking, pedestrian crossing zig zags, disabled bays and doctors' bays
    • parking on estates.

Tuesday 27 August

All parking restrictions return as usual.

Phone the parking enforcement hotline on 020 7527 7624 (24 hours a day) for any problems with parking over the summer bank holiday.

Vehicle pound opening times

The vehicle pound will be open:

  • Monday 26 August - 8am to 6pm.

Parks

All parks and parks sports facilities are open as usual on Monday 26 August.

Recycling and rubbish collections

Your recycling and rubbish (and garden waste if you have paid for it) will be collected the day after your usual collection day on the week starting:

  • Monday 26 August 2024.

Weekend collections will stay the same.

Collections will be the same as usual from Monday 2 September 2024.
