Every day across Islington, people who care about their local community make positive and selfless contributions to the lives of others. These actions often go unrewarded.
Islington’s unsung heroes are all over the borough, whether volunteering at food banks, checking in on their elderly neighbours, supporting young people in crisis or raising awareness of racial inequality.
The Mayor’s Civic Award and the Ben Kinsella Award recognise people who have made an outstanding voluntary contribution to life in Islington.
You may nominate an individual or a group for a Civic Award, while the Ben Kinsella Award is for young people aged 18 or under.
Nominations are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday 27 January 2025.
All eligible nominations will be reviewed by the awards panel. We will invite shortlisted nominees to attend an awards evening in March 2025. Award winners will be presented with an award and a voucher to use at one of Islington’s local businesses. Read about last year's award ceremony on our media site.
