Find out our opening times and service changes over Christmas and New Year holidays. This includes changes to bin collection days, parking and customer contact centre opening hours.

Islington Town Hall will be closed from Thursday 2 to Monday 6 January 2025 for planned maintenance. Registrar services will be reopen on Monday 6 January 2025.

Islington North - Notice of Election: UK Parliamentary General Election 2024

Statutory notice of election for Islington North constituency for the UK General Election 2024.

  1. An Election is to be held of One Member of Parliament for Islington North. 
  2. Forms of nomination for the Parliamentary Election may be obtained at Electoral Services, G04 Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD from the Acting Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature. 
  3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer, Electoral Services, G04 Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD on any day after the date of this notice between the hours of 10am and 4pm but no later than 4pm on Friday, 7 June 2024. 
  4. The required deposit may be made either by the deposit of any legal tender or by means of a banker’s draft. 
  5. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 4 July 2024. 
  6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, G04 Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Wednesday, 19 June 2024.
  7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, G04 Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Wednesday, 26 June 2024. 

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on medical grounds, for work/service reasons or because voter ID has been lost stolen destroyed or damaged must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London, N1 2UD by 5pm on Thursday, 4 July 2024. The reason for applying for an emergency proxy must have occurred after 5pm on 26 June 2024.
