GovMetrics accessibility statement
This statement applies to content published on Islington complaints forms hosted on https://apps.casetracker.uk.
This website is used by Islington Council for processing complaints. It is run by a third party supplier called GovMetrics. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
- ·navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Drop downs and screen reading software: Screen reading software is not reading out loud the content of some of the drop downs.Users have to enter data via drop downs in order to submit the complaint.
- Select your address: Once keyboard only users and screen reader users have navigated to the ‘Select your address’ drop down, as soon as they press the down arrow the first address is automatically selected.
- Case type pop up: When the ‘Case type’ link receives the keyboard focus, a calendar drop down appears which obscures other content. It is difficult to close this drop down because the keyboard focus becomes lost behind the calendar drop down.
- Form field boundaries: The edge of the text input fields is unclear because there is limited contrast with the background.
- Historic complaints: Keyboard only users and screen reader users will not be able to review complaints that have not been recently updated.
- Text colour contrast: The text colour contrast is not always sufficient.
- Navigation menus: The navigation menus are difficult to use for screen reader users.
- Image alternatives: Alternative text for images is not always present or meaningful.
- Table sorting: Screen reader users will not know the order by which the cases table is sorted and will not be able to change the sort order
- Focus indicator: The keyboard focus indicator has insufficient colour contrast.
- Address: Screen reader users may not be aware of whether or not they have successfully selected an address using the postcode finder.
- Dialogs: Screen reader users will not be aware that the dialogs have appeared. Keyboard only users will find the dialogs difficult to navigate to.
- Link names: Some of the link names are misleading.
- Labels and explanatory text: Text which appears next to some of the inputs is not announced by screen reading software when users navigate to the inputs and the date and time format is not stated in the labels.
- Required fields: It is not clear which fields are required.
- Autocomplete: On some browsers there will be no autocomplete options as user type in details about themselves.
- Error messages: Some of the error messages are not announced to screen reader users when they appear.
- Keyboard only: Some of the controls will not be operable by keyboard only users.
