Access Islington

Council staff member talking to a resident

If residents need extra help, Access Islington is the first point of contact, and can signpost them to a range of services.

Access Islington can help with anything from parking queries to providing support with the rising cost of living.

The Assistive Technology team supports vulnerable residents in their own homes enabling them to continue to live independently and our 24/7 team responds to emergencies 365 days a year.

Access Islington also provides front door support for adult services, working with residents, adult services, the police and external agencies to ensure that our most vulnerable residents are allocated the support they need to live their best life.

The Here to Help team provides advice and makes introductions to in-house teams in benefits for financial support; working with charities to help those in need, providing food bank vouchers, emergency funds and help with fuel bills. Other support offered by Access Islington includes:

  • encouraging self-serve support: helping residents to help themselves whenever they need to through online services
  • support with the rising cost of living: our advisers have access to a range of tools and services
  • signposting to appropriate support: we have strong links to all areas of the council and the voluntary sector
  • environment and highways
  • referrals into community partners
  • adult social care
  • council tax and housing benefit
  • parking permits and enquiries
