Blue Badge exemption for people-friendly streets pre-application guidance

Read this guidance before you apply for a Blue Badge exemption permit for people-friendly streets.

Blue Badge holders who live in an Islington LTN can apply for an exemption using the link below to the online form. This application is for an exemption from designated traffic filters in one of the low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) in the Islington people-friendly streets programme.

You can only register one vehicle which can be your own, or one used for your transportation.

The exempted vehicle can only be used for the transportation of a Blue Badge holder who lives in an Islington LTN.

An exemption for Blue Badge holders can only be provided for one of the filters in the people-friendly streets neighbourhoods listed below:

  • Amwell
  • Canonbury East
  • Canonbury West
  • Clerkenwell Green
  • Highbury
  • St Mary's Church
  • St Peter's

Sacred Heart School Street traffic filter

Blue Badge holders living north of Mackenzie Road to Caledonian Road to the west and Holloway Road to the east, and Hornsey Street to the north are exempt from the Sacred Heart School Street filter on the junction of Georges Road with Eden Grove. If you think you should be exempt but have not received a letter from the council, please email PFSBlueBadge@islington.gov.uk.
