You can use your membership card at any of our libraries and access fantastic services and resources, including:
- Books, music and film
- online resources and information, including newspapers and magazines
- eBooks and eAudio
- 120+ free computers, free internet access, free WiFi
- one-to one basic IT support and accredited learning
- baby bounce, under-five sessions, homework clubs and toy libraries
- home library service
- local history resources
Conditions when borrowing
- Adults and young people (aged 13 to 18): On your first visit you can borrow 4 books, 2 music items and 1 DVD. When you return these items and you show ID and proof of address, you can borrow 20 books, 12 music items and 12 DVDs.
- Children: you can borrow 20 books.
How long can you borrow for?
You can borrow books, music, and DVDs for 3 weeks.

Special membership for carers, foster carers and childminders
Our carer's ticket gives extra loans and privileges to registered carers, foster carers or childminders.
Membership renewal
Your membership will automatically expire after 12 months. You just need to confirm your contact details with a member of staff and your membership will be renewed straight away.
Your rights and responsibilities
Please don't allow anyone else to use your four-digit PIN number and keep it secure. Don't forget to bring your card with you if you intend to borrow items or use the computers. You can return books, music and DVDs to any Islington library.
Please look after items borrowed on your library card. You will be charged for any items that are damaged or lost.
As a library member you agree to abide by the library bylaws when using our libraries and our Acceptable Use Policy when using library computers.
