We want our social channels to be a welcoming and inclusive place. To ensure that everyone can engage with our social media channels, we have community guidelines as outlined below.
What you can expect from us
We use these channels to inform you about our services, news, and bigger plans and ideas for the borough. We also use them to work with residents on any questions or issues they may have.
We also try to make our content accessible to everyone. We do this by:
-
Adding alt text to our images
-
Using CamelCase in hashtags
-
Adding closed captions to our videos and voiceovers to explain what is happening
-
Limiting our use of emojis so that our posts can be easily interpreted by screen readers.
-
Providing clear context on any hyperlinks in our posts
What we want to hear from you
Our channels are a great place to share:
-
The things you enjoy doing in Islington such as events and activities
-
Lovely or interesting things about your Islington community
-
Any feedback that we can do something about, questions and thoughts about our services.
When you can reach us
We are online 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. We will deal with all enquiries including those sent out of hours during this time. We aim to get back to any queries within 8 hours, but please allow a maximum of 24 hours for non-urgent queries. In most cases you will be able to access services more quickly through our website.
Members of our team are working to respond to you when they can, so please be polite and patient. Anyone who is repeatedly rude and/or aggressive to members of our team or other users will be banned from commenting and posting on our channels.
