About the centre

Packington Children’s Centre is a warm and welcoming centre which aims to meet the needs of our diverse community. We operate over two nursery sites:

  • our under 3s site at Popham Road
  • and our 2 to 5-year-olds site at Bentham Court

Both sites have stimulating outdoor areas and are within a five-minute walk from each other. The majority of children from our under threes site transfer to the Bentham Court site once they are three years old.

The ethos at Packington Children’s Centre focuses on children's rights. We encourage our children to be independent and make their voices heard from a young age. We offer a warm and stimulating environment where children can experience fun-filled, meaningful and rich opportunities to learn and develop. Our highly qualified and nurturing staff welcome all children warmly and celebrate all children’s achievements together with parents.

We firmly believe that Early Years is the foundations for life and that every child is different, with different experiences, different needs and interests, and for this reason the activities available daily for children, are planned carefully with our Early year’s teachers to bring out the potential in each child. We ensure that all activities and learning experiences are accessible for all of our children. We aim to encourage children to challenge themselves, take the odd risk and enjoy their learning.

We are passionate about building a strong partnership with all our parents and encourage parents to take an active role in the centre. Our parents can come in whenever is convenient to share the exciting and stimulating experiences on offer with their children.
