This statement applies to content published on the MRI Homeless Self Referral Form.
This website is run by MRI on behalf of Islington Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site. You should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard or speech recognition software
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Some of the text has poor colour contrast. This could make reading some parts difficult for partially sighted users. However, this is unlikely to have a major impact on users. Most of the text does have sufficient colour contrast. The placeholder text in the forms, which has poor colour contrast, is repeated in the labels, which have good colour contrast. The text colour of the word ‘Saved’, which has 3.02:1 colour contrast will be sufficient for many but not all partially sighted users to read.
- The green tick icon which indicates that information has passed validation tests will be difficult to see for some partially sighted users. This however is not essential information required for the completion of the form.
- Users need to be able to see the edges of form controls, for example text boxes, in order to know where to place the mouse pointer. The form control boundaries are difficult to see throughout the MRI homelessness form. Some partially sighted users may not be able to see exactly where to place the mouse control to fill out some of the forms. Partially sighted users who cannot see the form control boundaries, are likely to be able to guess the position of the form controls by the proximity of the labels, but this will be an awkward and frustrating experience.
