This statement applies to content published on the Conveya apprenticeship portal website.
This website is run by Conveya on behalf Islington Council. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:
- Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the the site using a keyboard
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
How accessible this website is
We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible.
- The site is very difficult to use for users who cannot see the screen, who will not be able to use the whole of the site. Information is not read in a logical order by screen reading software. Colour is used to convey information where there is no text alternative. Not all functionality is keyboard accessible, and therefore not accessible to screen reading software. Unexpected changes in the screen content happen when users activate interactive controls, which is disorientating for users who cannot see the screen. Not all controls have labels, meaning that screen reader users will not be able to determine the function of some of the controls. The state of some of the controls (e.g. open or closed) is also not expressed programmatically making them difficult to operate for screen reader users.
- Keyboard only users will not be able to use the site fully because not all content is keyboard accessible and the keyboard focus indicator is not always visible.
- The site will be difficult for partially sighted users to use because the text colour contrast is not sufficient.
