May bank holiday services 2024

The holiday opening hours for the main call centre 020 7527 2000 for the May bank holidays are: 

• Monday 27 May: All services – Hubs and call centre closed

There is no face-to-face service available over this period. 

If residents require urgent assistance, our emergency out of office line will be available, call 020 7527 2000 and choose the option needed.

On Saturday 25 May until Tuesday 28 May, the register office will also be closed, other than for booked ceremonies.

During the bank holiday, an on-call registrar is available each day between 9.30am and 12.30pm to register deaths for urgent religious funerals. Please call 0207 527 6350 during these hours to be connected to the on-call registrar.

• Monday 27 May – All libraries closed

May bank holiday parking enforcement

• Monday 27 May (Spring bank holiday) - 24-hour offences such as double yellow lines, footway, double parking, pedestrian crossing zig zags, dedicated disabled bays and doctor's bays. Moving traffic violations will still be enforced.

All other days during this period are enforced as normal.

Vehicle pound opening times

The vehicle pound will be open as follows: 

• Monday 27 May: 8am - 6pm  

The vehicle pound can be contacted on 0207 527 1381.

Estate parking enforcement

We will be enforcing estate parking over the May bank holiday period as follows: 

• Monday 27 May: normal 24-hour enforcement

The enforcement hotline number can be contacted 24-hours on 0207 527 7624 should there be any problem with enforcement over the bank holiday period. 

All parks and parks sports facilities are open as normal on Monday 27 May.

Rubbish and recycling collections will happen a day later than usual on the week beginning Monday 27 May 2024. Weekend collections will remain the same.

Collections will continue as normal from Monday 3 June 2024.
